The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has recently introduced a scheme for people in some cities, including Coimbatore, to change the cooking gas consumer agent of their choice. According to the federal government, the new scheme is designed to empower consumers. Through this facility people can avail the service from any distributor with the specific oil marketing company located in their area.
In the first phase, the project will be launched in Coimbatore, Chandigarh, Pune and Ranchi. According to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, consumers can access the service through the oil companies’ websites, telephones and processors. The government has said.

முதற்கட்டமாக கோயம்புத்தூர், சண்டிகர், புனே, ராஞ்சி ஆகிய நகரங்களில் இத்திட்டம் தொடங்கப்பட உள்ளது. எண்ணெய் நிறுவனங்களின் இணையதளம், தொலைபேசி, செயலிகள் மூலம் நுகர்வோர்கள் இந்த சேவையை பெறலாம் என பெட்ரோலியம் மற்றும் இயற்கை எரிவாயு அமைச்சகம் தெரிவித்துள்ளது.வீட்டில் இருந்தவாறே தங்களது சமையல் எரிவாயு விநியோகஸ்தரை நுகர்வோர்கள் மாற்றிக்கொள்ள இந்த வசதி வழிவகை செய்கிறது மேலும் கடந்த மே மாதம் நடந்த சோதனை முயற்சியின் போது 55,759 விநியோகஸ்தர்கள் மாற்றல் கோரிக்கைகள் எண்ணெய் நிறுவனங்களால் வெற்றிகரமாக நிறைவேற்றப்பட்டது என மத்திய அரசு தெரிவித்துள்ளது.
